The Atalanta midfielder is rated at £27m and is being linked with a move to the Emirates in the summer. The Gunners are getting set for a bumper squad overhaul this summer as their season goes from bad to worse. On 1 September 2014, Cristante signed a five-year contract with Portuguese champions Benfica for a transfer fee of €4.84 million. On 12 December, he debuted in a 0–5 Primeira Liga victory at Vitória Setúbal. On 14 January, he scored his first goal for the club in a 4–0 win against Arouca in the third round of league cup. Cristante, who is playing in Serie A on loan from Benfica, is valued at around £27million. According to report, Liverpool, Wets Ham and Watford are all also interested in his signature.
Cristante, 23, has scored 10 times in 33 appearances this season in all competitions.
