Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr plans to recall Mainz striker Anthony Ujah for 2019 AFCON

Nigeria head coach Gernot Rohr has planned to recall Mainz forward player Anthony Ujah for next month 2019 Africa Cup of Nations double header against Libya. In 2015 Ujah last cap ended with goalless draw with Tanzania in the  AFCON qualifier. His lack of game time at Mainz was the main reason he was not invited to the Nigeria squad for the 2018 World Cup despite a chance meeting with Gernot Rohr at the airport in Frankfurt.Rohr told reporter: We are scouting him, we could remember him for the next games. Ujah was a member of the Super Eagles squad at the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup and started the 6-1 rout of Tahiti.

Denis Suarez has recovered from hamstring injury

Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez is fit  to go back to action after recovering from injury. Denis Suarez substained an hamstring injury against Tottenham on the club’s pre-season tour of the US and came home early. Denis was expected to recover for three weeks but his recovery seems to have taken much longer than expected.The Midfielder has not make any appearance this season for Barcelonabut will now hope he can force his way into the squad. Barcelona have a busy fixture list coming up with the return of the Champions League and Valverde has said he will need to make changes.He opted to rotate a little against Real Sociedad which may offer Denis hope he can see some game time in the coming weeks.

Douglas Costa await spitting ban

Juventus star player Douglas Costa face three-match ban, after spitting at a Sassuolo player. The Juv winger was a substitute in today’s 2-1 win over Sassuolo at the Juventus Stadium.There was a struggle with Federico Di Francesco  in the build-up to the Sassuolo consolation goal in the final minutes. First he seemed to lash out an elbow, then attempted a headbutt.The pair continued arguing until Douglas Costa spat at Di Francesco from point-blank range. It was caught on camera and the VAR officials in the booth immediately alerted the referee, who sent him off. There is no mandatory ban in Serie A for a straight red or for spitting, but there are some precedents.

Cristiano Ronaldo scores his first competitive goal for Juventus against sassuolo

Cristiano Ronaldo has scored his first Serie A goals by netting twice against Sassuolo for Juventus. Though Juventus have won their first three games and led Serie A with nine points heading into Sunday's match, five-time World Player of the Year Ronaldo had yet to hit the back of the net since his move from Real Madrid in July.Ronaldo gave Juventus a 1-0 lead in the 50th minute when Sassuolo defender headed the ball against his own post, and the rebound left the Portugal forward with an empty net to open his account for the Old Lady.But Ronaldo was not done there, as he added a second 15 minutes later by drilling a low effort into the far corner.There was late drama as Khouma Babacar pulled a goal back for Sassuolo before Douglas Costa was sent off, but Juve held on for a 2-win.

Marco Verratti has decided to stay in Paris Saint-Germain after speculations of being linked with a move to Barcelona and English Premier league side Manchester United. It was reported stated that the 25-year-old was expected to sign a deal worth €7 million a year last week.
