Barcelona midfielder Pedri sustained a thigh injury during their 3-2 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
The Catalan club exited the competition at the quarter-final stage after losing 4-3 on aggregate and Pedri, 19, was substituted at half-time.
He was replaced by Frenkie de Jong, who had been suffering from illness during the week.
This is Pedri’s second injury of the season, with the midfielder missing over four months with a hamstring issue.
He has only made 22 appearances across all competitions in 2021-22, having played 76 times for club and country in 2020-21.
A Barcelona statement on Friday read: The first team player Pedri has thigh problem in his left leg. He is awaiting tests to find out the exact extent of the injury.
The midfielder from the Canary Islands played the first half of the game against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Pedri signed a new Barcelona deal in October which will keep him at the club until 2026. It has a €1 billion release clause.
Barcelona are second in La Liga, 12 points behind leaders Real Madrid.
