Barcelona are determined to sign a new left winger this summer, with their top targets being Nico Williams and Luis Diaz. The latter is favoured by sporting director Deco, and it’s looking increasingly likely that he will be available on the market.
As reported by The Daily Mail (via MD), Liverpool have been in talks with Newcastle United over a deal for Anthony Gordon, who like Diaz, plays as a left winger. The Reds have also been linked with Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia of Napoli.
Diaz had been a key player for former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, but with him gone and now replaced by Arne Slot, the Colombian international appears destined to leave during the summer transfer window. For Barcelona, he is likely to be a more financially-viable option compared to Williams, and coupled with Liverpool looking other targets, a possible deal does seem a little bit more likely.
