In a concerning update, Real Madrid have officially confirmed that midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni has suffered an ankle injury and is set for a spell on the sidelines.
“Following tests carried out today on our player Aurélien Tchouameni by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a sprained left ankle. Pending evolution,” the club statement read.
After last night’s 3-1 defeat at the hands of AC Milan, reports emerged that the 24-year-old had suffered a minor knock and would undergo tests.
Now, it has been confirmed that the French international has indeed suffered a sprain in his left ankle, which will keep him out of action for a period.
In fact, journalist Arancha Rodriguez reports that Tchouameni is likely to be out for around a month, dealing a blow for Real Madrid.
Even though the French midfielder has been below par in recent games, he remains a trusted lieutenant of manager Carlo Ancelotti, although recent reports suggested that the Italian might be losing confidence in the ex-Monaco man.
Tchouameni will now miss Real Madrid’s upcoming matches against Osasuna, Leganes, Liverpool, Getafe, Athletic Club, and possibly even Girona.
