Paris Saint-Germain are Ligue 1 champs yet again.

Luis Enrique’s side claimed another French title after a 1-0 win over Angers on Saturday at Parc des Princes. Désiré Doué scored for PSG in the victory on an assist from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The title is PSG’s 13th overall, a French record, fourth in a row and their 11th in 13 seasons. With six games remaining on the league calendar, it marks the third occasion that the title has been clinched this early with PSG previously winning the 2016 title with eight games to go and Lyon capturing the 2007 championship with six matches left.

The team remains unbeaten on the season in the league and has the chance to break a record held by the 1994-1995 Nantes side that went 32 games without a defeat.

Should PSG go the entire season without a loss, it would become only the sixth team among Europe’s top-five leagues to do so following Bayer Leverkusen (2024), Juventus (2012), Arsenal (2004), Milan (2002) and Perugia (1979).

The team is also on course for a potential treble. Paris Saint-Germain will meet Reims in the Coupe de France Final next month and the team will play the first leg of its Champions League quarter-finals tie with Aston Villa on Wednesday at home.In 17 Champions League appearances, PSG has yet to capture European club football’s biggest prize.
