Inter Milan head coach Simone Inzaghi talked about Bayern Munich, Vincent Kompany, Thomas Müller, and Bayern’s squad depth as both sides gear up to decide who advances to the Champions League semi-finals.
Inzaghi lauded some heavy praise on his opponents, saying “Together with Real Madrid, Bayern is the strongest team in the world.” He continued, discussing how Inter have lost all their 4 previous home matches against Bayern, highlighting the difficulty of the task ahead: “The previous matches with Bayern at San Siro are not positive but our players are mature. Inzaghi also praised his colleague and Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany: “I respected him a lot as a player and he is proving to be very intelligent as a coach too. He has given excellent principles to Bayern, they press very well and have talented players. We will have to play very well technically to keep the ball as much as possible; tomorrow it will be even more difficult because they press very well”.
Inzaghi further commented on speculations around Bayern’s starting lineup, and Thomas Müller’s potential inclusion: “We know him. He scored in the first leg, he played a great game against Borussia Dortmund.”
He continued, discussing Bayern’s squad depth: “We know how strong Bayern are, they have so many talented players. If Sané isn’t there, there’s Gnabry, there’s Coman. We’ll need a great performance tomorrow, we’ll play with our weapons.”
