Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen was a happy man after making his long-awaited return from injury against Real Valladolid.
The German was back in the starting XI for the first time since September and spoke to the media after the 2-1 victory.
“I really wanted to play tonight and it’s always better when you win. We are keeping on our good run of results which is important. We know we have some big games games coming up and it will be spectacular hopefully,” he said.
“When you’re 1-0 down, it’s always difficult at a ground like this. Valladolid had nothing to lose but I do feel sorry for them. Their support was behind them but we did what we had to do. We won the game and we move on“I think he [Flick] has found a good balance because he gives us all importance to be part of the team. Some play more, some play less, but we are all a team and if we all win it’s better and we enjoy it.”
Ter Stegen conceded early on in the game to a deflected effort but then went on to make some important saves as Barca picked up all three points.
