Champions League Club reportedly target Mathias Kvistgaarden

COPENHAGEN, DENMARK – 2025/04/13: Mathias Kvistgaarden of Brøndby IF celebrates after scoring their first goal during the Danish 3F Superliga match between F.C. Copenhagen and Brøndby IF at Parken Stadium. Final score: F.C. Copenhagen 1 – 2 Brøndby IF

Celtic are reportedly facing tough competition for Mathias Kvistgaarden this summer, with Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt and Serie A club Bologna now showing interest in the Danish striker.

Kvistgaarden, who has been linked with Celtic for a while, has been a target for years and continues to score goals in his homeland for Brøndby, making him an interesting target for Celtic following Kyogo’s departure.

Campo Report from Denmark that Kvistgaarden’s agent, Ebbe Sand, recently held talks with Bologna. Sand was reportedly seen sitting with Bologna’s sporting director, Marco Di Vaio, during their 1-1 draw with Juventus, which has raised questions about the Italian club’s interest in signing Kvistgaarden.

Brøndby’s sporting director, Benjamin Schmedes, was recently asked about Kvistgaarden’s future, and while no deal has been made yet, it’s clear the player is in demand.

He said: (Viaplay), “Yes, there has been interest in him since I came to the club and even before that.“So it doesn’t surprise me, because he is a good player. There is a lot of interest in him.“I hear rumours left and right, but that’s not my job unless there is something serious.“I don’t know anything about it. Of course, we have interesting players, and Mathias is one of them.“I’m not surprised that they are looking at such players. But again, I haven’t heard anything official from any side, so for me, it’s nothing to talk about right now.”
