Newcastle United have been linked with a move for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo throughout the season.
Thomas Frank has reiterated that Brentford are “open” to offers for Bryan Mbeumo this summer amid reported Newcastle United interest.
Speculation has ramped up regarding the Cameroon international’s future this season. An impressive 28 Premier League goal contributions helped Brentford fill the void left by Ivan Toney.
A right-sided player, Mbeumo can also operate as a No.9 – a potentially useful asset to Newcastle. Alexander Isak is the undisputed first-choice striker at St James’ Park but options are thin behind him.
Callum Wilson turns 34 next season and continues to struggle with injuries. Failing to score a top-flight goal in 2024-25 also raises questions about whether he can produce at elite level.
As for youngster Will Osula, he is viewed as one for the future, with Eddie Howe developing his raw talent. Having a right-wing upgrade on Jacob Murphy that can cover through the middle would give Newcastle options up front.

Speaking to Match of the Day, the Bees boss admitted they would listen to offers. Brentford reportedly want around £60million for Mbeumo, with Yoane Wissa also targeted by suitors.
“That gives us a little bit of an advantage,” he said when asked about Brentford having the option to extend Mbeumo’s contract by another year. “We’ll decide for ourselves if we want to sell them or not. But I’ve said many times before that we’re a selling club. If the right bid comes in, we’re open. Of course I’d like to keep them.”
Bryan Mbeumo comments echoed
Frank’s admission was his doubling down on comments made earlier this month. He said about Mbeumo: “I’m the head coach, I want my best players to stay forever. I know that Bryan is very happy being here at Brentford, he’s thriving, doing well and playing fantastic.
“What happens in the future? I don’t know. I’ve said many times: we are a selling club. But at the same time we have to reinforce that there are 10 clubs in the world who aren’t selling clubs.
“So, of course, if the right price – and that’s going to be expensive – is coming, then I’m sure the club will be open for it. But I’m very happy he’s here, and I’m convinced that Bryan will still be happy playing football here.”
