Man Utd’s Jadon Sancho on the verge of completing £25m transfer as ‘deal is agreed’

LONDON, ENGLAND – AUGUST 10: Jadon Sancho of Manchester United in action during the 2024 FA Community Shield match between Manchester United and Manchester City at Wembley Stadium on August 10, 2024 in London, England.

Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho is reportedly on the brink of a move away from Old Trafford, with whispers of a ‘done deal’ with Juventus for his departure.

Sancho was shipped out on loan to Chelsea last season following a bust-up with Erik ten Hag in September 2023, effectively putting an end to his United career. The Red Devils and the Blues had agreed a £25m obligation-to-buy deal last summer.

However, after a less than stellar stint at Stamford Bridge and failed wage negotiations with Chelsea, the club was slapped with a £5m fine for not sealing a contract with Sancho.

Just last week, MEN Sport revealed that Sancho was among five players who had told United they wanted to make their exit permanent this summer. Consequently, the winger was given extra time off to help facilitate a move elsewhere.

And now, according to Italian media reports, that transfer is nearly a done deal. Journalist Marco Giordano announced on Tuesday night that an agreement for Sancho to join Juve this summer was all but signed, sealed, and delivered.

No hitches are expected, and it’s believed that both clubs have settled on a £25m fee. Giordano is set to provide another update on Wednesday evening, reports the Manchester Evening News.

In it, he claimed the only snag would be the compensation Sancho’s representatives are seeking from United for facilitating the exit. Apparently, the agency is asking for a £5m payout, which could influence the overall valuation of the deal.

However, once that’s ironed out, Giordano’s convinced Sancho will join Juventus.

But transfer guru Fabrizio Romano contradicted claims of a done deal, posting: “Juventus have not sent any formal bid to Man United for Jadon Sancho so far despite reports. No club to club negotiations; talks took place with Jadon’s agents last week as Juve confirmed no intention to cover Jadon’s salary.”

Juventus have allegedly put forward Tim Weah, Douglas Luiz and Dusan Vlahovic as possible swap options.

Amorim is said to be after a striker, a midfielder and a wing-back once United wrap up a planned deal for Bryan Mbeumo using cash from player sales. With no European football this season, Amorim can manage with a leaner squad than last year.

GIVEMESPORT reports that United’s talks with Juve have been upbeat, and the viability of a transfer is expected to emerge this week.
