Tottenham are readying a €50 million offer to test Atletico Madrid’s resolve on Conor Gallagher ahead of the coming period.

According to Fichajes, Tottenham are still interested in a move for Conor Gallagher, and are ready to make a €50 million bid for the midfielder.

Thomas Frank wants to reinforce his midfield area despite the loan arrival of Joao Palhinha, as Spurs have had a long-standing interest in the current Atletico Madrid star.

Tottenham have not lost sight of Conor Gallagher despite the midfielder making his move to Atletico Madrid last summer. Spurs have had an interest in the England international midfielder during the last two summer windows, but there were complications back then as he used to play for London rivals Chelsea.

Since his move to Atletico Madrid, Gallagher proved himself as a useful addition for most parts of the season under Diego Simeone. The Argentine manager is satisfied with the midfielder and does not want to sell him; however, the club might take the final stand on his future.

Tottenham are willing to table €50 million to sign Gallagher, with the report stating the midfielder might be tempted by a return to the Premier League. Everton were also keen earlier, while there are other suitors in the mix, with Newcastle United and Aston Villa also thought to be interested.

Simeone might have been open to the idea of selling Gallagher earlier, given that Atletico Madrid have already reinforced their midfield with the signings of Johnny Cardoso, Alex Baena and Thiago Almada. However, the departure of Rodrigo De Paul to Inter Miami might have changed the manager’s mind.

Thomas Frank has been keen to land Gallagher, as Tottenham continues to search the market for quality reinforcements.

Spurs need top players as they embark on an important season with Champions League football in it. They recently signed Joao Palhinha on loan from Bayern Munich, which does solve a key issue in the centre of the pitch, while someone like Gallagher would add the energy missing from last season.

As for the 25-year-old midfielder, he could be tempted by the prospect of making a return to England and London.

Gallagher would want regular game time at the highest level, as he’s serious about making the England squad for next year’s World Cup, as the idea of playing regularly for Spurs would certainly put him firmly on the radar of national team manager Thomas Tuchel.
