Barcelona are reportedly close to tying Eric Garcia down to a new contract at the club that will keep him with Hansi Flick’s side until 2030.
Garcia is currently in the final year of his existing deal but an agreement for an extension is close, according to Diario Sport.
The two parties have been talking for some time now and are hoping that everything will be signed, sealed and delivered before Christmas.
Garcia had looked destined for a Barcelona exit last year but has gone on to become an important squad player under Hansi Flick.
The German coach is a clear admirer of the 24-year-old’s versatility and has used him at right-back, in the center of the defence and in midfield since taking over.
Garcia also popped up with five goals last season in all competitions for Barcelona and now looks set to be a fixture in the squad for many years to come.
