Man United loanee unlikely to return to Old Trafford
England welcome Wales to Wembley for an international friendly on Thursday night. Thomas Tuchel has made just two changes to the squad which ended the last international break, with Bukayo Saka and Jarell Quansah replacing injured duo Noni Madueke and Tino Livramento.
The Three Lions cruised to a 5-0 win over Serbia in their last outing, and Tuchel will hope to see his side impress once again against Craig Bellamy’s side on Thursday.
One player that could start against Wales is forward Marcus Rashford, who has been included in the squad after scoring in England’s win over Serbia in Belgrade last month.
The forward has been enjoying a good run of form for Barcelona of late, and it has now emerged that he is unlikely to return to his parent club.
According to TBR Football, the Englishman has no intention of returning to parent club Manchester United at the end of his current loan spell.
Rashford, 27, joined Barcelona on loan over the summer having fallen out of favour under United boss Ruben Amorim.
He has scored twice three goals and provided five assists in ten matches across all competitions, and the report suggests that he is very happy at the Spanish side.
While Rashford is currently set to return to Manchester at the end of the current campaign, the report claims that the la Liga giants are intent on activating an option-to-buy clause that was included in the initial loan deal.
Barcelona will, however, attempt to negotiate the terms of the permanent deal with United before agreeing to the signing.
Rashford’s current contract with Manchester United isn’t set to expire until the end of the 2027/28 season, but it appears increasingly unlikely that he will play for the Red Devils again.
In total, the England international has scored 138 goals and registered 78 assists in 426 matches for United across all competitions, although he did spend time on loan with Aston Villa last term after falling out of favour at Old Trafford.
