Amorim

Manchester United welcome Everton to Old Trafford for an intriguing Premier League encounter on Monday night.

Ruben Amorim has eased the pressure on him by overseeing a run of three wins and two draws from their last five games, most recently drawing 2-2 against Tottenham Hotspur in North London.

The Red Devils sit seventh in the top flight table after their recent run, having endured a dismal start to the campaign.

New signing Bryan Mbeumo has been in fine form for Amorim’s side of late, and the Portuguese will hope to see the forward continue that into the coming weeks.

Off the pitch, however, it has emerged that Manchester United are one of the clubs in the race to sign a Swedish youngster.

According to Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Man United are interested in AIK teenager Kevin Filling and have been in talks to sign the player.

It is claimed that the Manchester outfit have been pushing to sign the 16-year-old striker, who has scored two goals in nine senior games for the Swedish side.

Filling is a product of AIK’s youth system and has also spent a brief spell on loan at fellow Swedish side Enkopings SK.

Plettenberg also claims that German giants Borussia Dortmund have entered the race to sign Filling, with the German side’s head coach, Sebastian Kehl, keen to add the forward to his squad.

Despite Filling attracting interest from two of Europe’s biggest clubs, it is claimed that no agreement has yet been reached with any interested club.

It is, however, claimed that Filling, who is under contract at AIK until the end of the 2027/28 season, could leave his current club as soon as the upcoming January transfer window.
