Atletico Madrid are closing in on the signing of Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, although they still need to get the green light from the player himself.
After a late contract offer from Chelsea was rejected by Gallagher, as reported by The Athletic, it looks as if he is destined to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, as the Blues are keen not to lose out on him for free next summer.
Now Diario AS report that a deal has been agreed with Chelsea for a €45m move, which is close to what they were originally demanding for him. It will now come down to Gallagher to decide whether he wants to make the switch or not, with an offer from Atletico on the table.
The 24-year-old has also attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa, and the former have seemingly made an attempt to hijack the deal. It seems that his future will be decided imminently, with Atletico giving him until the end of the week to respond to their offer.
