Fabian Schar has signed a 3year contract with Newcastle United for an estimated fee of £3million. The center back featured for switzerland and started all three of his country group games at the world cup in Russia.
The 26yr old moved to spain from Hoffenheim last summer season, and Made 25 appearances for Deportivo as they had been relegated from LA Liga.
Fabian Schar stated in the Newcastle website, I am very happy to be here, Newcastle is a big club for me. It has a big name, and it is a brilliant chance for me. I am not like a good defender. I am also good with the ball, I like to play, I want to build up the game from behind, and I think that is a strength of mine.
Newcastle manager Rafael benítez also said he is genuinely pleased to Welcome fabian to Newcastle united.
