Rafael benitez hail his players for their effort against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.Manchester City thrashed Newcastle united 2-1 this evening thanks to goals from Raheem Sterling and Kyle Walker. DeAndre Yedlin was on target for Benitez's side, who are now 18th in the Premier League. Newcastle fought back after going behind early on, Yedlin cancelled out Sterling's strike and the game was decided by a second-half goal from Walker.Newcastle United manager Benitez said : I was pleased with some things, but disappointed in the end because we want to get a result. The team effort was there and the mentality. The players were fighting for each other. I was really pleased with that, but disappointed.

Liverpool winger Sadio Mane stated he held discussions with Manchester united before he moved to Liverpool in june 2016. Mane move to Liverpool from Southampton for £34million and claimed united were the wrong team to join for after being approached by then boss Louis van gaal a year  before. He told reporter: Some teams wanted me, including Manchester United, which was the wrong team for me. Although,  I spoke with Van Gaal, and they even made an offer.
