TORONTO, ON – JUNE 7: Franck Yannick Kessie #8 of Cote d’Ivoire runs with the ball against New Zealand during the second half of their Canadian Shield Tournament match at the BMO Field on June 7, 2025 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

As per a report from TMW today, Fiorentina could bring Franck Kessie back to Italy. The Ivory Coast international spent a number of notable years in the Serie A, for both Atalanta and Milan.

After that he went to Barcelona on a free and won La Liga. He currently plays for Al Ahli in the Saudi Pro League.

The biggest challenge for La Viola however will be his salary. Kessie currently earns €14m per season, an amount that is outside the purse strings of the club from Florence. Moving to Florence would require a large financial sacrifice from his end. Whether that is going to happen is uncertain at the time but the interest is there.

The important factor here is that of Stefano Pioli. The manager was appointed last month and has worked with Kessie previously at Milan.

The two won the Scudetto together at Milan in the 2021-22, with the player being a massive catalyst to the win. The chance of working with Pioli and a return to Serie A are the two factors which could bring Kessie to Fiorentina.
