Man United reportedly stepping up efforts to sign Lyon striker Dembele

Manchester United are stepping up their own efforts to sign the ex-Celtic forward Moussa Dembele, according to Daily Star.
This Star says the Frenchman prefers a move to Old Trafford and that the Reds are increasingly confident of landing the £60 million-rated Lyon striker.
United have reportedly been tracking Dembele for a year and consider him the ideal replacement for Romelu Lukaku . Chelsea are also in the hunt, but United CEO Ed Woodward is poised to make a move in an attempt to lure him to Manchester instead of London.
Dembele had scored 22 goals in all competitions this season before the coronavirus pandemic brought Ligue 1 to a premature end.
Lyon have missed out on European qualification, which means it should be easier for would-be suitors to exploit the French club’s situation and sign Dembele.
