Xavi Simons of RB Leipzig scores and celebrates his teams first goal during the 1. Bundesliga match between RB Leipzig and VfB Stuttgart at Red Bull arena, Leipzig, Germany on May 17, 2025.
The Athletic report that Bayern Munich have enquired about signing Xavi Simons. The Dutchman only joined RB Leipzig on a permanent basis in January following a successful loan spell from Paris Saint-Germain but after the Saxony club missed out on European football completely, the 22-year-old wants to depart the club this summer.
Newcastle United and Barcelona have both shown interest in signing Simons, but neither club has made a noticeable approach. Meanwhile although Bayern have enquired, there’s been no negotiations between the clubs, per The Athletic, who add that the Netherlands international has signalled that he is ready to take the next step in his career.
Simons, who has seen his market value drop from €80m to €70m, via Transfermarkt, scored 10 goals and provided seven assists in 25 Bundesliga games for RB Leipzig last season.
