Real Madrid star to be ruled out for 3-4 months ahead of upcoming surgery

EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY – JULY 9: Jude Bellingham of Real Madrid CF reacts during the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 semi-final match between Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid CF at MetLife Stadium on July 9, 2025 in East Rutherford, United States.

La Liga giants Real Madrid will be forced to make do without the contributions of a leading member of their midfield ranks for the months ahead.

This comes with Jude Bellingham finally set to undergo surgery on a long-standing shoulder problem.

Bellingham, for his part, has long been playing whilst some way short of full fitness.

This comes owing to a shoulder injury, which has seen the England international suffer a series of relapses over the course of the last 18 months.

When taking to the pitch, Bellingham sports heavy padding on the shoulder in question, no doubt hampering his mobility to at least some degree.

The decision, in turn, had long been made for the 21-year-old to undergo a surgical procedure upon the conclusion of Real Madrid’s campaign at the Club World Cup.

And with as much having come about courtesy of a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night, Bellingham will therefore go under the knife imminently.

As per a previous report from The Athletic:

‘Specialists consulted by The Athletic indicated Bellingham will likely be sidelined for around 12 weeks while he recovers from the operation and is expected to miss the start of the 2025-26 La Liga season.’
