Flick selects ten Barca youth players for preseason training
Hansi Flick has called up ten players from Barca Atlètic to join the first team for the start of FC Barcelona’s 2025-26 preseason, allowing the German manager an opportunity to assess the club’s younger talents up close.
The selected group includes academy standouts Landry Farré, Toni Fernández, Guillermo Fernández, Jan Virgili, Juan Hernández, Jofre Torrents, Pedro Fernández “Dro,” and Dani Rodríguez.
Also included are Ibrahim Diarra, who joined the Juvenil A squad last season, and Swedish winger Roony Bardghji, a recent signing who has not yet been officially unveiled by the club.
These players completed medical and physical evaluations alongside the senior squad and will train with Flick in the opening sessions of preseason. Their involvement in Barcelona’s upcoming international tour is not guaranteed, however. The coaching staff will monitor their performances in the coming days before deciding who will make the trip.
Barcelona’s preseason officially begins on the afternoon of July 14, following standard medical checkups. The team will train in the Catalan capital for ten days before departing for Japan on July 24. The Asian tour will also include a stop in South Korea.
Flick’s decision to integrate several young players reflects both the manager’s reputation for nurturing talent and the club’s continued reliance on La Masia as a foundation for the future.
