Bayern Munich prevailed 2-1 over French side Olympique Lyon in its preseason opener on Saturday in a game that saw a lot of new faces feature for the Bavarians.
It was a bright start, and captain Joshua Kimmich promised that there’s more to come.“We had chances, especially in the second half. We could have scored another goal or two.
You could tell we weren’t starting from scratch, but that there was a certain balance,” Kimmich offered in his analysis of the match (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Like his coaches and teammates, Kimmich also weighed in on Bayern’s biggest arrival of the summer — former Liverpool FC winger Luis Díaz.
And he had simply this to say: “Luis Díaz is someone who loves football and always has a smile on his face.” Sounds like a perfect fit in Bavaria.
