Birmingham City are interested in a move for FC Porto attacker Danny Namaso, according to a report by Record.

Birmingham City are being linked with a swoop for the attacker this summer. BCFC have until the deadline on Monday 1st September to conclude any final bits of business.

Namaso, 24, has been on the books of FC Porto since 2020. He is under contract with the Portuguese giants until June 2028.

In this latest update regarding his situation by Record, he has emerged on the radar of the Blues in this window. It remains to be seen whether they will lodge an official offer for his signature.

Birmingham City beat Sheffield United in the first round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night. Speaking afterwards, Chris Davies told their official club website: “I thought we were good value for the win,” he said. “There was some excellent football, really fluid, we moved the ball well and gave them a problem either through our possession play or through our pressing – and we should have been out of sight.“

He added: “We know what it’s like, it’s going to be really hard this season. Sheffield United were in the play-off final last year, we are talking about a team that was twenty minutes away from the Premier League.“

The Cameroon international, who has two caps under his belt, rose up through the ranks at Reading. He was a regular for the Royals at various different youth levels before breaking into their first-team.

He was then snapped up by FC Porto five years ago and initially became a regular for their B team. The Reading-born man has since become a key first-team player and has made 105 appearances in all competitions to date, chipping in with 14 goals.
