Timothy Weah of Juventus during a training session at JTC on October 17, 2024 in Turin, Italy. Juventus has received a timely boost ahead of their crucial Serie A clash with Lazio this weekend, as Timothy Weah returns to full training following a spell on the sidelines. The American winger has struggled with injuries throughout the season and was forced to miss the last three matches. However, the international break provided him an opportunity to recover, and according to Tuttomercatoweb, Weah is now fit and training with the rest of the squad. Injuries have plagued Juventus this season, with several key players missing at different stages. As the Bianconeri prepare to face a strong Lazio side, they will be without important contributors like Nicolas Gonzalez and Teun Koopmeiners, bot...

Paul Pogba ‘willing to accept pay cut’ to stay at Juventus

Paul Labile Pogba of Juventus looks on during the Serie A TIM match between Empoli FC and Juventus at Stadio Carlo Castellani on September 3, 2023 in Empoli, Italy. Paul Pogba is adamant that he wishes to return from his reduced doping ban with Juventus even if it means accepting a pay cut, the French World Cup winner told La Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview yesterday. “I’m willing to give up money to be able to play again with Juve, I want to come back with this club,” said Pogba in an interview published on the Italian sports daily’s website. “The reality is that I am a Juve player and I am preparing to play for Juve.” Pogba’s contract with the Italian giants expires in June 2026 and is currently worth eight million euros (US$8.684 million) a year. Another Juventus injury concern after USA 2-0 Panama

Juventus could have another injury situation to deal with, as midfielder Weston McKennie was an unused substitute during the USA’s 2-0 win over Panama in the early hours of Sunday morning. McKennie concern for Juventus after USA absence The 26-year-old has reportedly played the last few Juventus matches wearing a protective shoulder brace, but that has not had an impact on his game-time until this international break. According to updates from Gianluca Di Marzio, McKennie reported for Mauricio Pochettino’s first training camp with some fatigue and minor discomfort. He could also be a risk for the USMNT’s upcoming friendly against Mexico on Tuesday night. Additionally, as USA-Mexico will end in the early hours of Wednesday morning in European time, and given that Juventus will be in acti...

Juventus and Pogba to part ways after doping ban cut

Paul Pogba's doping suspension was cut from four years to 18 months after experts supported the French international's claims of having unintentionally ingested a banned substance, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) said on Monday. The France international was provisionally suspended by Italy's national anti-doping organisation (NADO Italia) in September 2023 after testing positive for DHEA – a banned substance that raises levels of testosterone. CAS reduced the sentence last week, with Pogba saying his "nightmare is over". The 31-year-old, who has a contract with Italy's Juventus until June 2026, will be eligible to return to football in March. In a statement, CAS said Pogba had argued that his ingestion of DHEA was not intentional and had occurred after he consumed a supplement pre...

Juventus considering terminating Paul Pogba’s contract despite ban reduction

According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus could consider terminating Paul Pogba’s (31) contract at the club despite the player being cleared to play again. The France international midfielder has had a 4-year doping ban from football reduced by the Court of Arbitration for Sport after 18 months. The former Manchester United midfielder tested positive for a banned substance after a match in which he was an unused substitute against Udinese. Following the decision of the CAS to reduce the midfielder’s ban, he would be able to return to Juventus training in January. In addition to a return to training in the new year, the 31-year-old could have been targeting a March return to football. However, it appears that the Serie A club could have other plans regarding Pogba’s future in Turin. The m...

Juve and Napoli play out draw in early title tussle

Juventus and Napoli played out a goalless draw on Saturday as two teams tipped to challenge for the Serie A title cancelled each other out on Antonio Conte’s return to his old stomping ground. A fiercely contested, but far from exciting contest at the Allianz Stadium in Turin ended with Juventus maintaining their unbeaten start to life under new coach Thiago Motta. Juve are yet to concede in Serie A this season but their third consecutive league stalemate denied them top spot, currently held by local rivals Torino following their 3-2 win at Verona on Friday. Torino are a point ahead of Udinese, who are at Roma on Sunday, and third-placed Napoli, while Juve are a further point back in fourth. “Without goals, it is impossible to win games,” said a blunt Weston McKennie. Motta drew surprise...

Marseille have ‘agreement’ in place to sign Rabiot

Marseille have reached an agreement in principle with France midfielder Adrien Rabiot to join the club. "The player will join OM subject to the results of a medical," the nine-time French champion said Sunday. The 29-year-old Rabiot has been a free agent after he declined to extend his contract with Juventus, where he spent five seasons. Rabiot previously played for Marseille's bitter rival Paris Saint-Germain. Born in the Val-de-Marne region of Paris, he joined PSG's academy at age 15. Rabiot has made 48 appearances for France. He played at Euro 2024 where France lost to Spain in the semifinals. The terms of any deal were not announced by Marseille, but l'Equipe newspaper said Rabiot is expected to sign a two-year deal.

Juventus held at Empoli ahead of their CL return; Bologna draw at Como

Juventus were held to a goalless draw at Empoli in Serie A on Saturday ahead of their return to the Champions League, while Bologna came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Como. Thiago Motta’s side take temporary lead of the Italian top flight, one point ahead of Inter Milan, Torino and Udinese, who are all yet to play this weekend. But Juve underwhelmed in Tuscany, creating very little in a performance that offered little to worry PSV Eindhoven, who visit Turin on Tuesday evening. Dusan Vlahovic went closest for Juve four minutes at half-time when he shot straight at Deviz Vasquez after being sent racing towards goal. And Juve had Federico Gatti to thank for a goal-saving tackle in the fifth minute of stoppage time which denied Emmanuel Gyasi which would have been a stunning winner. ...

Fenerbahce confirm agreement with Juventus over Kostic

Fenerbahce have released a statement confirming an agreement with Juventus over the transfer of Filip Kostic. The Serbian was an automatic starter under Max Allegri during his first two years in Turin. However, he immediately became surplus to requirements upon the arrival of Thiago Motta. The 31-year-old has been left out of the Champions League and hasn’t been called up for any competitive or friendly fixture this season. During the summer, Kostic rejected proposals from Saudi Arabia, as well as the likes of Crystal Palace and Southampton. But with the transfer market shut almost everywhere on the globe, Turkiye became his ultimate escape route. The winger has been linked with a move to Galatasaray, but it was their crosstown rivals Fenerbahce who managed to seal the deal. Kostic w...

Juventus’ unbeaten run ends in Roma draw

Juventus were held to a goalless draw by Roma on Sunday, ending Thiago Motta’s perfect start as coach of the Serie A giants. A match short on action and goalmouth incident left Juve on seven points from their first three matches of the new campaign. Motta’s team are behind champions and league leaders Inter Milan on goals scored after a much less inspiring performance than the two three-goal wins which preceded it. “It was an even match and the right result,” said Motta to Sky Sport. “We’re only on our third game and today we played a team which is hard to play against, with a good coach and good players… There are lots of things we can improve. “It’s very early in the season, let’s see where we are at the business end of the season, for now it’s too early to talk about our objectives...

Thiago Motta hails Juventus performances from young talents

Thiago Motta was not surprised by Samuel Mbangula scoring on his shock debut as Juventus crushed Como 3-0, but outlined how Dusan Vlahovic and Kenan Yildiz combined upfront. The Bianconeri had stuttered in pre-season and there were doubts as to what the real identity of this team would be under a very different coach to predecessor Max Allegri. There were also eyebrows raised when 20-year-old Next Gen talent Samuel Mbangula was picked in the starting XI rather than massive investment Douglas Luiz, but it was the young winger who opened the scoring against Como. Tim Weah added a second on the stroke of half-time from a Kenan Yildiz pull-back, Andrea Cambiaso sealed the 3-0 rout, while Vlahovic hit the woodwork twice and had a goal ruled offside. “I had good sensations about Mb...

Szczesny Bids Farewell to Juventus and Might Join MLS

Wojciech Szczesny, who once stood as the rock-solid guardian of Juventus' goal, is now on the brink of moving to the United States. Szczesny, a name that once echoed with security between the posts of the 'Old Lady,' now finds himself at a crossroads, with the allure of MLS shining in the distance. It’s undeniable that the arrival of Thiago Motta, the new conductor of the Turin team, brought a fresh symphony to Juventus, but one that left Szczesny without a solo. With the signing of Michele Di Gregorio, the Polish keeper saw his space shrink, like a shadow fading at sunset. It was inevitable, then, that a contract termination would be the final note in this partnership. However, it wasn’t a bitter farewell. The separation was dignified, accompanied by compensation that, although not...

Nico Gonzalez part of Serie A transfer merry-go-round Reports on Monday morning confirmed that Juventus have agreed to pay a fee of €30m to sign Nico Gonzalez from Fiorentina. The player has informed his current employers of his desire to leave the club in order to play Champions League football. Sky Sport Italia add that Fiorentina ‘promised’ they would allow Gonzalez to leave the club in the right circumstances after turning down offers from Brentford and Leicester City in the past.
