Cristiano Ronaldo has added another award to his impressive collection
after winning Manchester United’s Goal of the Season.

The
37-year-old has already been named
the club’s Player of the Year
after proving to be a rare bright
spark in an otherwise dismal season at Old Trafford. Ronaldo scored 24 goals in
his first campaign back at United, having made his return last summer.

The five-time
Ballon d’Or winner impressed during United’s run towards the end of the
season, scoring hat-tricks to inspire his side to wins over Tottenham and
Norwich which ultimately proved vital in securing a Europa League spot for next
season. And it’s one of those goals which has seen him take home another
accolade.

Ronaldo has won
the club’s Goal of the Season award for his spectacular first against Spurs back
in March. Having received the ball 30 yards from goal, the Portugal
international took a touch before letting fly with a powerful effort as he
blasted the ball past Hugo Lloris.

The goal was
voted the best strike of the season by United fans, winning a poll that was
unsurprisingly dominated by Ronaldo. The former Real Madrid man’s effort took
29 per cent of the vote, and he also took second as his effort in the reverse
fixture against Spurs claimed 24 per cent.

Ronaldo’s
latest award means he has now won the Goal of the Season award a record four
times since it was introduced in 2005/06. The Portuguese was previously tied
with former teammate Wayne Rooney on three following his first spell at the
club.

United fans will hope to see plenty more strikes from Ronaldo next
season, with the forward having hinted he will be staying at Old Trafford.

“I
was and still am very happy to be here,” Ronaldo said after winning his Player
of the Year award.

“For me,
the most important thing is to try to win the games and try to win some
championship or some cup but I believe that Manchester will be where they
belong. As I say before, sometimes it takes time but I still believe.”
