Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw believes that the Reds’ summer
signings have added to the “family atmosphere” in the dressing room, and hopes
the close bond between the squad off the pitch will help the team on it.
Shaw spoke with club media ahead of the beginning of the 2022/23 season,
and praised the positivity of the United dressing room.
“It’s good,” he said. “I think it’s always been good. We all
get on really well and we’re like a family.”
New boss Erik ten Hag has made three additions to his squad so far this
summer, with the arrivals of Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez and Christian
Eriksen bolstering the Reds’ ranks.
Shaw shared the fact that he and his United team-mates welcomed the new
signings with open arms, and he believes the close bond between the players,
along with the teachings of Ten Hag, will help the Reds in the long term.
“We aim to create a family atmosphere and, with that, everyone feels
together and close and that makes things better out on the pitch,” he added.
“There is definitely a good vibe and it’s been really enjoyable with the new
manager and his ideas.”
United kick off our Premier League campaign against Brighton & Hove
Albion at Old Trafford on Sunday 7 August. Kick-off is set for 14:00 BST.
