Scotland star Nathan Patterson was stretchered off on wednesday 3-0 win against Ukraine.
The Everton full-back suffered an injury blow in the early stages of the match at Hampden.
Patterson, 20, has made a flying start to the Premier League season and was handed a start against Ukraine in the Nations League fixture.
But he was forced off through injury after just 26 minutes.
The defender appeared to be struggling with a possible knock to his ankle stretching to his knee.
Patterson had trudged off to the sidelines for treatment with 22 minutes on the clock but he couldn’t continue.
And the full-back was taken off on a stretcher with Hampden applauding the youngster as he was taken for further treatment.
Brentford full-back Aaron Hickey – formerly of Hearts – replaced Patterson in the crucial Nations League match.
