Spurs expected team vs Qarabag – Mikey Moore decision amid Postecoglou changes

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou must decide how many changes he makes to his team to face Qarabag in the Europa League
Ange Postecoglou has to balance his changes for Tottenham’s Europa League clash against Qarabag on Thursday evening.

The Spurs boss made eight changes to his starting XI for the Carabao Cup tie against Coventry and the disjointed performance almost cost the north London side their place in the fourth round.

With that in mind, Postecoglou will be wary of making as many alterations for the visit of the Azerbaijani side to N17 even though it is only the first of eight matches at this stage in the large new league format.

Postecoglou could hand minutes to Radu Dragusin, Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall and Pape Matar Sarr and he might also decide to hand 17-year-old Mikey Moore his first start.

Yves Bissouma could get minutes from the off after featuring only at the end of the win at Brentford on Saturday following his return from a groin injury.

The Spurs boss must then decide which of the starters from the game against Thomas Frank’s side start again, with the trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United looming on Sunday.

Here’s the Tottenham team that reckon Postecoglou could select:

Goalkeeper – Fraser Forster

If Postecoglou doesn’t select the former England international then it makes his decision to leave Djed Spence out of his Europa League squad look a bit pointless.

Right-back – Archie Gray

The £40million summer arrival could get another go at right-back to ensure he gets minutes.

Centre-back – Radu Dragusin

The big Romanian needs more game time to make sure he’s sharp for the coming season.

Centre-back – Micky van de Ven
With Cristian Romero suspended, Micky van de Ven might get an hour or so with Udogie having played in the previous cup game.

Left-back – Ben Davies
Udogie might get the night off and only Davies can play at left-back other than Van de Ven.
